Description

This tree, the source of edible dates, will grow 60'- 80' tall and has greyish-green leaves on a slender trunk. It does well in desert and ocean gardens and those in between. This palm is often used in formal groupings around large buildings. Yellow fruit appear in winter, attracting wildlife and creating litter. Only female plants, if pollinated, will produce fruit. Flowers are insignificant.

Water Saving Tip:

Change spray sprinklers to low-flow bubbler or drip systems. Shrubs and trees are ideal candidates for this type of irrigation because the water is applied directly to the root zones.
