Canyon Prince Island Wild Rye |
Beautiful blue-gray foliage spreads to 3'-4' or more. It will reach a height of 2'-3'. Flowers rarely. It does spread by rhizomes although not as vigorously as some closely related species. It is extremely drought tolerant and care must be taken not to over water this species as it can rot from the center. Otherwise, it is carefree and requires virtually no maintenance.

Change spray sprinklers to low-flow bubbler or drip systems. Shrubs and trees are ideal candidates for this type of irrigation because the water is applied directly to the root zones.
