Acer tataricum is a deciduous shrub or tree. It reaches 20-25' height and width slowly. This tree has lobed green leaves that turn yellow and red in fall. Small greenish white flowers appear in spring, followed by red fruit called samaras in summer. Bark is grey and smooth when tree is young but texture becomes coarse with age.
