Description

This fast, dense, rounded deciduous shrub reaches 4-6' tall and 8' wide, bearing broad, thin, lobed leaves that are light underneath. In the summer and early fall, long, conical clusters of sterile white flowers mixed with tiny fertile flowers appear. Because it blooms on its old wood, the plant should not be pruned until after flowering. Its leaves turn a dark bronzy purple during the fall. The plant should receive sun to part shade, with average to little summer watering. -Monterey Bay Nursery

Water Saving Tip:

Check your irrigation controller once a month, and adjust as necessary.

Most plants require only one-third as much water in winter as they do in summer.
