Description

This beautiful tree slowly reaches 25'-30' high; a flower deformity makes this tree fruitless (less pollen). Foliage is soft looking, green and reminds one of willow trees. Trunk is smooth and gray, becoming gnarled with maturity. It will grow in coastal areas as well as inland warm valleys. It tolerates rich soil as well as gravelly, alkaline, poor soil. Once it's established, it needs water 1-2 times per month in the summer and no water in winter.

Water Saving Tip:

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.
