Saw-Leaf or Japanese Zelkova |
A moderately fast growing deciduous tree, the Sawleaf Zelkova usually reaches a size 50'-60' high and as wide. Its toothed leaves are elm-like and dark green. Foliage changes to yellow or red during the fall and is spectacular. This tree starts off in a vase habit, maturing to a wide and open canopy. It becomes drought tolerant with age and is a great wind barrier. Zelkova is used as bonsai also.

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.
