Description

The Platanus acerifolia is a fast-growing, deciduous tree that reaches a size 40'-80' high by 30'-40' wide. Its leaves are 3-5 lobed, with a width of 4"-10", dark green but turning yellow in fall. This tree is tolerant of most soils, smog, dust and reflected heat. It is tolerant of wet soils also. Exfoliating bark is beautiful, revealing a lovely winter silhouette. This is a great park tree.

Water Saving Tip:

Change spray sprinklers to low-flow bubbler or drip systems. Shrubs and trees are ideal candidates for this type of irrigation because the water is applied directly to the root zones.
