The 'Early Sunrise' is a wonderful cultivar and showy, southern U.S. native. Semi-double, deep yellow flowers that flush to orange-yellow near the center on 18" tall bushy plants bloom from June to September in full sun and average to dry soils. This small annual (sometimes acts as a perennial) plant will grow to less than 1' tall and has light, small blue-green leaves with gold and orange flowers that bloom in spring and summer.

Columnar Italian Cypress

Italian Cypress is often associated with Italian and Spanish architecture, providing columns in the landscape. They often reach 40'- 60' tall. 'Stricta' is compact, columnar and produces long, straight branches with deep green foliage. Once it's established, it is drought tolerant. Provide well draining soil. Do not plant near ocean.

Large clusters (6"-12" in diameter) of lavender, white, pink or purple pom-poms appear in summer. These unusual flowers are on top of stems which are 12"-15" tall. These flowers are great for dried flower or fresh flower arrangements. Plant the bulbs in fall to enhance rock gardens, containers or with other leafy foliaged perennials. Allium has a slight garlic scent.
